The story of Iceland's colonization appears in a manuscript called Landnámabók. It describes the discovery of the island and the settlement of the first navigators who landed between 874 and 930. The first chapters deal with the colonization of northwest Iceland, which includes the Látrabjarg cliffs, the highest in Europe. A dizzying path overlooks the waves of the North Atlantic from which these intrepid settlers emerged. Olivier Joly
