Collection: Árstíðir
Árstíðir is the four seasons and three young men who elegantly intertwine melodies in the style of Simon and Garfunkel and experimental albums by Radiohead , folk and classical instruments and accents of traditional Icelandic music. Since its creation in Reykjavik in 2008, the group has explored all registers of vocal polyphony, a cappella, in collaboration with a chamber music group, and recently in a more rock register.
One of the guitarists occasionally plays with the metal band Sólstafir.
The group is hardly known in France, despite a concert at the Alhambra (Paris) in 2017 and at La Laiterie (Strasbourg) in 2019, which clearly and unfairly remained without follow-up.
Ísland released their four major albums, from their self-titled debut album in 2009 to Nivalis in 2018, including Hvel (2015) and Svefns og vöku skil (2011).
