Let's say that the band's ^second album, Svefns Og Vöku Skil (with the mysterious title of Return from Awakening and Sleep), released in 2011, is a good gateway into the world of Árstíðir .

Nine of the twelve tracks are sung in Icelandic and alternate the stripped-down folk melodies of their debut ( Til hennar , Brestir ), with the string flourishes that now make them instantly identifiable ( Á meðan jörðin sefur and the sublime Shades , which evokes Michael Nyman 's compositions for Peter Greenaw 's films).
