A specialist in experiments, Ólafur recorded this album during the summer of 2016, at the rate of one song per week, each time in a different city with a guest artist.

This is how Nanna (the singer of Of Monsters and Men ) rubs shoulders with the poet Einar Georg Einarsson , the choir director and organist Dagný Arnalds , the Kammerkór Suðurlands (southern choir), the composer Atli Örvarsson , author of numerous film scores, here conducting the northern symphony orchestra and the Brasstríó Mosfellsdals (Trio of Mosfellsdal brass).

Director Baldvin Z. (Baldvin Zophoníasson), author of the excellent (and distressing) series Réttur and Trapped , followed him and filmed the recording sessions in the churches, studios and living rooms where they took place.
