Leader of the symphonic rock and reggae band (!) Hjaltalín , collaborator of the pope of electro GusGus , composer of film, series and theatre music, creator of interactive installations... Högni Egilsson does so many things that you would think he does several.
His first solo album, Two Trains , opens with Andaðu (breathe), the powerful breath of a male choir that seems to have come out of a cavern from ancient times. Further on, Break Up reconnects with the subtle electropop of the Swedish Jay Jay Johanson. In the meantime, the electro rhythms have been tied to a string formation (on Crash ).
It's difficult to categorize, so much the better, it's very inventive and surprising, and will convert even the most reluctant to electro.
