Drummer and composer Einar Scheving has played on around a hundred albums, including the excellent Jack Magnet Science in 2024, while also recording his own compositions.
Published in 2011, Land míns föður (My Father's Land) won the Album of the Year award, as did its predecessor, Cycles, in 2007.
While half of the tracks are instrumental, Einar Scheving also invited some big names for the vocal parts: Sigríður Thorlacius and Sigurður Guðmundsson who also recorded a covers album together, Egill Ólafsson, Kristján Kristjánsson (KK), the folk singer Ragnheiður Gröndal , whose crystal clear voice works wonders here, and Ragnar Bjarnason , a famous singer who died in 2020.
