Collection: Of Monsters and Men
Even if you think you don't know Of Monsters and Men, you've probably heard Little Talks, the song that propelled them into the media spotlight with their debut album—oddly titled My Head is an Animal— and earned them a platinum record in the US upon its release in 2011.
But OMAM is far from being a one-hit band and, even if it strangely passes under the radar in France (they played in Paris in November 2015) - which definitely has trouble admitting that Iceland can carry many other talents than Björk, Ásgeir and Sigur Rós - it has been stringing together melodic pearls for more than 10 years, carried by very careful productions, the use of brass, accordion, glockenspiel..., and choirs from which emerge the interlacing voices of Nanna Bryndís Hilmarsdóttir and Ragnar Þórhallsson, both composer, singer and guitarist. So many elements that often bring to mind the Canadian band Arcade Fire, with whom the group shares an unparalleled stage presence.
The Ísland gallery offers you their albums on CD and a vinyl version of My head is an animal, released for the 10th anniversary of its release, expanded with two previously unreleased tracks and new versions of four tracks featured on the first edition.
