Between folk sweetness and electronic delicacy, Icelandic Jófrídur Akadóttir releases a second album in English recorded in New York.
Jófrídur Akadóttir was only 22 years old when her more famous compatriot, Björk, cited her in a Guardian article as one of her inspirations, praising her electronic band Samaris, her solo writing, and "her authentic community of friends" in Reykjavik. In Iceland's micro-capital, the chances of bumping into a musician are much higher than elsewhere. And the chances of meeting JFDR are even higher: omnipresent in many local projects, she became an Icelandic favorite at the age of 14 thanks to the indie rock duo Pascal Pinon, founded with her twin sister, Asthildur.
